Understanding Mobile Broadband

Mobile Broadband allows a customer with a laptop to access the Internet wherever and whenever they want.

The customer can connect to their laptop by using a USB Modem (sometimes called a “Dongle/Stick”), or via a Wi-Fi hotspot.

So what do O2 offer?

O2 is offering their customers competitive tariffs at very reasonable prices and the opportunity to commit to either short or long term contracts. Please see below:

O2 Mobile Broadband provides fast internet access, a monthly allowance of 3GB of data, as well as unlimited access to 7,500 WiFi hotspots across the UK.

As of today O2 is launching a compelling consumer offer that combines both Home Broadband and Mobile Broadband.

From August 1st to October 31st, O2 will be providing FREE Home Broadband to any customer that purchases Mobile Broadband online.

The 8meg O2 Home Broadband package for 7.50/month (price for O2 customers) will be offered for free to each person who takes out an O2 Mobile Broadband contract in the period August 1st to October 31st.

Should the customer choose a package with a monthly price higher than £7.50, i.e. the 16meg or 20meg O2 Home Broadband packages for £10 and £15 a month respectively, the customer will need to pay the difference. For example if the 16meg package was chosen this would be £2.50 a month for the life of the Home Broadband contract (12 months).

This also applies to SME Broadband too where the customer is also entitled to receive £7.50 (inc VAT) discount when they buy Mobile Broadband.
